The Story Behind Every Sculpture
For over two decades, I have dedicated my life to the ancient art of wood sculpture, specializing in capturing the raw power and majesty of Africa's Big Five. Each piece tells a story of patience, skill, and deep respect for both the craft and the creatures that inspire it.

My Story
My fascination with wood began in childhood, watching my grandfather transform raw timber into functional art. But it wasn't until I encountered my first piece of African hardwood that I truly understood the soul of the medium. The grain patterns, the rich colors, the way the wood seemed to whisper stories of ancient forests, it was transformative.
After years of honing traditional techniques, I discovered my calling in wildlife sculpture. The Big Five, elephant, lion, rhinoceros, leopard, and Cape buffalo, represent more than just Africa's most iconic animals. They embody strength, grace, wisdom, and the untamed spirit of the natural world.
Each sculpture begins with a deep study of the animal, their anatomy, their movements, their character. I spend months selecting the perfect piece of wood, one whose grain and natural patterns will complement and enhance the creature's essence. The carving process itself is meditative, a conversation between artist, material, and subject.
Today, my sculptures reside in private collections across five continents, each piece carrying with it the passion and dedication of a lifetime spent perfecting this ancient craft. But beyond the accolades and recognition, what drives me is the moment when someone first encounters one of my pieces, when they see not just carved wood, but a living, breathing embodiment of wild Africa.
